Waaah, it's not my buds falling off, it's my seedpods. I had 2 little pods on Shredded White that were crossed to Pink Beauty. They fell off. My crosses to Candida flore plena fell off. My L'amour pods fell off, half the Jesse Noel X Pink Beauty fell off. Waaah, pass the kleenex please.
My pod fell off
oh, I'm so sorry!!! I have two on EK1, one with L'amour and one with Kyles Pink. Hoping they stay, they've been there a while.
Oh Cala I know you are disappointed. Are these the ones in the greenhouse or outside?
Cala, I'm so sorry you lost your pods. Is it still hot where you are or is something else causing it.
Oh Susie . . I really hate to hear that and I know you are so disappointed. Do you think it's the heat or is something biting them off?
Oh no so sorry but I am sure it will have more coming again. =)
They are in those BIG pots outside. I haven't let them get too dry, they have about half a day of good sunshine, I used osmocote. It's been in the 90's for weeks. I think it's just too hot for them. I'm hoping for cooler weather, and I have more teeny buds coming on.
I'd love to have some E x R 3rd pollen to put on some pinks in my yard. Namely...a few pink candida types and perhaps Ecuador pink herself. Then I could complain loudly as seedpods started to fall. Rest assured...no voice would cry louder than mine over the loss of such a pod. But, then I did lose that other pod I had....that was a shame...grief and sorrow...hybridizing....sheesh.
So sorry Calla,we were all hoping those crosses work!Hopefully it will cool down a little.
I know you can do it!
Oh Susie, I am so sorry, sniff, sniff, here's the tissue.
Thanks all. At least they have lots more buds coming. The bud worms are only at the house and these are outside the jungle house. I can just bring them in for the winter.
Cala, i have one pod i fertilized i think took. but then, there's another pod that i didn't fertilize! maybe i should string up the flowers after pollinating. have 2 pods on maya, put E9 on them!!!! so silly!!!
cala, don't tell kell, but you have mail!
OK Arlene, I won't tell.
So sorry Cala. Chin up . . . you can do it!
Sorry to hear you are having trouble. I didn't have any pollen to use for such a long time and now I'm having fun playing. Most will be pods that I will not even use the seeds, just wanted to see if I could do it. Those that are important are all marked. Have three on Pink Beauty, crossed with Butterfly. Have had one bloom on Tropical Sunset and I think it is going to pod okay, but strange things have happened this summer, so only time will tell. Wait and see, all the good ones will drop and those trial ones will grow. Be just my luck.
My Tropical Sunset hasn't bloomed yet. It got too shaded in the Jungle House before I moved everything outside. It got leggy and the wind broke it. I'm hoping it gets to bloom this summer. You can layer the stems below the pods to bring them inside.
Ms. Brugie, sounds like good seeds! i keep wondering if you can get back to rothkirch by breeding its babies, or ocre....
Oh Arlene, I didnt think of that. Rotkirch is in Butterfly? Or L'Amour?
Geez, I just posted a question about this in another thread. Maybe I wasn't so far off the wall after all.
Rothkirch is in Butterfly, L'amour, Rosabelle, etc. I keep hoping we can get a Rothkirch that is perhaps more vibrant and stronger than the original Rothkirch by breeding its children together.
Rothkirch makes the R babies, right? brugie, i just answered in your other thread, deja vu all over again. but i think the R babies are rothkirch X ocre.....
isn't it in Pink Beauty too?
Rothkirch x Ocre would indeed be the cross Arlene...
oH I am sorry.. dont worry, you can try it again again.
