We had a wonderful almost 2 inches of rain last night. It really blew and thundered and lightening. Northwest of here they had almost 5 inches. You can almost see the cracks seeling up. I watered my poor flowers every day but they were getting pretty pathetic looking. It is amazing how much better they do when Mother Nature gives them a drink of water.

A county sheriff investigator stopped by today. You might recall our neighbor's house being broken into. The neighbor sent him over to me. He had pictures of a man who was using her credit card at KMart and at a gas station. The neighbor seems to think it is someone in our neighborhood. I don't know all the people who live a mile over in an acreage division, but I didn't recognize the guy. The pictures are really good and the investigator said they will probably post them on the local crime stoppers report.

He asked me if we had a security system. I said yes we installed one at a fairly low price when we built our house. He then gently scolded me and said I should have it posted that we have security system because that is a very good deterrent.

I had originally thought these people who did the break-ins were a little smart in the way they did it but to go into KMart and charge on a credit card is pretty stupid as most people know that those department stores have pretty good security systems, especially in the electronic departments.

DH has to order a new chain for our silage wagon - more $$$. The old one breaking is pretty much a result of someone borrowing it and not treating the wagon the way it should have been. It is unfortunate that we have to become unneighborly but we are starting to be a little more selective in who gets to borrow stuff. When we borrow stuff, we always have the policy that it will go back in better shape and with more gas than when we started with it. DH used to borrow one neighbors tractor and he even went and bought a new seat for it. Some have the same policy as we do but seems to be the minority.

Better go - am going to make steak for supper tonight. Julia is having wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow and probably won't be chewing for awhile. I sure hope it goes well for her.
