So diappointed!

I don't know why all my brugs never got any blooms almost a year just Daturas has blooms. Some time it make me sad. I can't wait to see mine blooms. I will have to wait and patient.

Redrose they should bloom when it cools down later in the fall, feed them every two weeks and keep them partly shaded by a tree etc and see what happens! :-) Good luck!

Redrose,
Cheer up...Out of many, many plants I only have one with blooms, 3 others with Y's and the other ones, who knows when they will bloom. I think when we see the pictures of so many beautiful brugs posted we get so filled with anticipation, but our time will come.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Rose, the only blooms I have really gotten this year are on the brugs I've had for years...Still waiting for cuttings and seedlings to bloom....

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

okay joydie, I'm gonna hold you to that!!!

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Yes Same with me.. My few of brugs did not bloom yet since last year when I got the cutting.. Lots of Patience and waiting. My other brugs keep blooming cause I feed them with Miracle Gro every once a week. Don't worry, your time will come.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Redrose you're not alone. I've been waiting since last year too. I'm just starting to get my first flowers now. I bet you'll get a few before the summer is over. You have such a long growing season compared to many of us. When they do bloom it will be worth the wait :)

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Oh really some of you not have blooms longer than mine, I did not know that so thank you all, I feel better to know now... Thanks again ! =)

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

If those of you who can't get blooms will remind us this fall we can send you some cuttings with buds. They should bloom in late fall or during the winter.
Or....if you want some cuttings from the white seedlings we throw out just say so.I have been giving these away to the neighbors.

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Give them a good dose of cow manure about every 4 days and water it in real good.

TiG,
I just do daily maintenance each day now. Some of these brugs look like they will grow and touch the sun before I ever see even a Y on them. I'm going to have to air layer some of them so the trees won't be too tall for my front garden. I've worked so hard babying these along and I have a lovely alley of brugs with no flowers or even Ys let alone seed pods. The suaveolens is the only one flowering right now and for that I am greatful.

Just think of it this way, you and I can post pictures over winter when other people's plants are dormant...:-)

Off topic but right now I'm madly propagating coleus sports and enjoying this while the brugs just do their thing in their own time.

(Zone 8a)

joydie1...I have pinched back a couple of mine to make them y and it works great! Try it!

Hamilton, Canada

I don't know if I could stand to wait any longer if I pinch them and they don't produce a Y. I have some unknowns of Larry's that I would like to see bloom soon.

(Zone 8a)

Okay...if you have just one try it! You won't know unless you experiment like I did! What do ya have to lose?

Pinching will make them Y...

Just my 2 cents worth!

I thought and thought about what you said in another post Rebecca. I went out several times and looked at my Brugs and thought some more. I only have 5-6 of them, so it required MUCH thinking. LOL At last, while weeding, I reached over and pinched the top off one. Gasp! Of course I put it aside to root for whatever reason. I really hope this works!! I have four more that I am eyeing and thinking.............

Oh thank you so much (gone2seed), you are so sweet, I would love to have that. Thanks a bunch! ((( HUGS )))
