The picture shows my hubby and his cousin(driving) with their latest toy. Hubby and two of his cousins are buying a machine that tears the berries off the wire which is all usually done by hand. The machine is an old berry picker modified with cutting heads instead of picking heads. You can see how the machine straddles the row. Berry picking does the same. A berry picker is about the same size but there have been lots of modifications to make this cutter. These three amigos call themselves Custom Cane Removal. They have one of the first machines made. They are doing custom work to pay for the machine.Farmers are an inventive lot. Always looking for an easier way to do something. So far I question the easier.They have had lots of glitches.Joann
