Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning farmers. And wanna be farmers, and the just curious. Today looks like it will be cool and might reach about 75 if the clouds go away. Some of those clouds are dark and they have been lurking since yesterday afternoon. Hubby said they got a very hard shower in town yesterday afternoon, along with a lightening storm, but out here at the farm we didn't get anything. Showers were forecast for last night, still nothing. That is pretty normal, we are on the dry side of the valley and up into the foothills of the Wallowa Mts. My friend who lives on the other side of those mountains has a very different climate from mine. She gets lots more rain and lots more snow.
I'm waiting for another load of hay to be delivered, but the last I heard the bale wagon was being repaired. The rancher we are buying our hay from said he baled some extra so we would be sure to have enough, and even tho we have the 25 tons we ordered just to go take the rest of it. He has some cattle missing, so I told him I would go looking for them.
The horses that were missing yesterday were found and put back were they belonged. The neighbor had spent several hours looking for them and I didn't have the heart to tell her that I found them in just a few minutes in the first place I looked for them. They were in a little hollow where there is good green grass and you have to ride up on a hill right beside it and look down into it to see them. So, all is well there. This is the same neighbor who was missing a puppy that turned up here and I returned it to her about 4 days ago. She said when anything is missing now she will call me first.
Today I have apricots to can and my vegie garden to irrigate, so I'd better get to work. I also plan to go riding if the hay comes soon enough. I can't leave until after that.
Have a great day and count your blessings.
