This plant was grown from a seed planted on 12/29. This is one that definitely will not fit in the GH this fall. LOL

Looks like Jacks beanstalk!
You must me giving them really good stuff for that to happen!
What do you do with this one, snow? You could shorten the stem with airlayering and get a nice tree this way. When I have such big plants and they are valuable, I lay them in a sloping position in the GH and reduce the stem by air layering during the winter. This way, I can save the flowering region.
Wow Snow, it's bigger than when I was there.
Monika, I'm don't have a whole lot of room in the winter since I don't keep my GH heated during the coldest months. Is this one worth keepng in your opinion. It has turned almost a pure white this evening.
Cala, It has grown a lot in the past couple of weeks. Wish I had a high ceiling just to see how big this one could grow.
That was from December seed? Amazing ~~
Liz, I planted the seed on 12/29 and it sprouted on 1/6. It's been growing like crazy ever since. The trunks on these seedlings are huge.
It is a bit of a Goliath isn't it? LOL
That is a big brug for less than 9 months. NH might get cold early, but you sure to grow nice brugs up there.
Are you sure that is only 9 feet (only she says!)? it looks much taller!! So it does not put out any side shoots or base shoots? What color is the bloom? Your soil must be very fertile! I am inpressed!
Snow, in my opinion, you should keep it and watch its further development. I would root either: the top with Y-part or make cuttings out of the flowering region. You can start with the air layering right now. This way, the plant continues to flower and make roots at the same time.
and snow just think, you could make enough cuttings for 100 people!!!!!
LOL - that's huge!! Wow Snow - the brugs must be loving you. None of mine are close to even half that size. Do you have them planted directly in the ground or did you sink the containers?
Poppysue, Everything is planted in the ground except for HG and two others that are in barrels. DH went on a digging spree one day and planted everything. I was going to leave some in pots so they would be easier to bring in but it didn't work out that way. Not that I'm complaining, I'm very thankful that he planted them. It's just going to be harder work to bring them in in a few weeks.I will be chopping a lot down. I really have to downsize a lot.
