How much cold can a brug take?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

It's getting unseasonably cold here at night and I've been bringing my potted brugs inside for the past few nights. It gets down into the mid 40's some nights and not so cold some other nights. How cold can they take it? I have some that have Y'd and I'm looking for blooms still so I don't want to screw them up.

mine have done well here the past two falls, going into 30s without harm. a light, short frost hasn't hurt the kinds that i have. i think some enjoy the cool. i had blooms on quite a few different ones into december last year at first hard frost.

Joan, Our weather has been up and down all summer and we've had a couple of nights in the 40's. We've just gotten over a heat wave in the 90's and this week the night temps are supposed to be in the mid 40's. Arlene is right. I think they do better in a little cooler weather than they do extreme heat.I would'nt worry about them unless it drops into the lower 30's.

we were so cold here yesterday also.......... I wonder if the weather has been changed for ever

Thanks, I won't worry so much about them then. This packing them in and out every morning and night was getting old already. Too soon to start that. Once we get into the new house they will have a place for the winter, can't wait! I'm gonna keep them growing all winter if I can. They are gonna go to the courthouses huge windows if we have a transition period between houses. I think I've caught the disease. LOL! They are getting better care than my kids I think.

I don't know what's up with the crazy weather this year, but I don't think I like it. Probably great for the people in the south, but for us up here, we savor every warm day we can get, since there's so few of them. :)

Thanks for the help, my brugs and I really appreciate it.
