Candida double White is on left and Knightii on right. These are frequently confused. Does anyone have a start of Knightii. Mine is sick and I am afraid I will lose it.
Both are bright white, for some reason the photo of Candida D. White has a pink cast.
For Kell Candida Double White and Knightii
they still look the same to me :) both have one slit in the calyx? what about the leaves? both of those look like what I have blooming now.
yes, very similar.............. what is the difference??
thanks barb for posting
tiG, My candida has slightly serrated, velvety leaves.
The difference I see is that in the Knightii the outer flower tendrils point outward and do not recurve. It is very prissy. Also, the interior flower of Knightii drops further down out of the exterior flower. Therefore, the tube is not as firm.
The Candida D. White interior flower remains firmly up in the outer flower resulting in a very firm tube. This is not present in the Knightii because the interior flower drops down, which leaves space in the exterior tube. The candida d. white flower recurves dramatically.
If you see them side-by-side, there is no mistaking that they are different. There are some other differences but I do not have my brug descriptions in front of me.
okay, now I see the tendrils difference. thanks!
Barb,
Sorry, the one you sent to me died too.
Glory,
We are going to have to go begging.
I'm sure there must be some one here that has an extra one.
The begging starts here, hee hee. I just happen to have a couple of Knightiis.
Ok, Calalily what do you want--My first born? There were times I would have given him away free. LOL Now he's a keeper.
What do you need?
Hmmm, I haven't really thought about it. I don't have Gold Traum or Pink Favorite.
Calla,
Have newely rooted Pink Favorite. It is an amazing flower-you would love it. HUGE!!
OK, want me to send the Knightii tomorrow or is it too hot down there? Ps, please email me your addy, I lost a bunch of papers when I cleaned the car out before the Maine trip.
