Boring White Suave

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Well - I feel sorta silly posting my plain ol' white suaveolens but it's all I got :o] The frangrance is so strong I could smell it in our driveway last night and the plant is way out back. I have lots of buds coming on the other brugs but I'm still waiting on them. Not very patiently either. I think I'll die if they don't open before frost. I was almost going to compost this one earlier this summer but I'm glad I didn't.

I've never met a boring brug : )

Looks good to me. I like a white brug here and there. Kind of perks up the evening garden scene.

i like whites, just have to limit how many i have! hope this rest will bloom for you really soon. are you gonna overwinter some in a basement or greenhouse? should make for a lot more blooms next year.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I'll winter as many as I can. I'm not gonna have the room to save all the seedlings tho. I do have 3 or 4 seedlings that have Yed and I'll try to make room for them if they don't bloom before.

Poppysue . . all brugs are special in their own way. I would love to have this one blooming in my yard. Even though we all talk about different colors, there is something very pretty about a pure white. And it is the whites that make a garden glow in the evening.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Nothing smells better at night and they can't be beat for putting on a show. Very nice plant.

White brugs are never boring; its a beautiful flower poppysue. Two of my favorite Brugs, Marie Gerrits and Candy Bell, are white but their fragrance is overwhelming. The flowers of Marie Gerrits are very luminous in the dawn. Check it, if yours does too?

Today I was out watering and in among the water and mud was a spent slug-eaten bloom of Cypress Gardens. I can't believe I MISSED IT! The stem to the flower was 10 inches long and the flower was hanging in the dirt. The leaves were so thick on the plant I didn't even know it was there. After that I went on a leaf stripping spree to make sure I won't miss anymore. I also found a Dr D that will be open in a day or two.

I'm happy with my plain ol white. I had to pick a blossom off and bring it to work with me for show & tell ;]
