Can y'all help me with this?

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

This hibiscus was labeled only Hibiscus 'Red Hot'. I can't find any mention, anywhere, of a hibiscus by that name. It came from Home Depot or Walmart. We thought it was real pretty.

This one had been talked about back the end of Jul. Eclipse said it is Hibiscus Cooperii. I have one also and so did quite a few others

Floridian,
How do you start your cuttings? Do you use the greener stems?

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

Joydie, I've only rooted a couple of hibiscus, one was a single, the other a red Turk's Cap (Malvaviscus arboreus). In both instances I took a whole stem (branch) and cut it into sections 5-6 inches each. I rooted them in water on a windowsill. All of them rooted, fairly quickly. I gave the Turk's Cap to my sister and it is getting big now. The rest did not survive as I had no place for them, I was still in an apartment last year. I'm sure there are much better ways to root them. I'll try the 'mini greenhouse' as well as the water and see what happens.

this is gorgeous!! it has missed its debut in this area though snow queen is all over recently. I can't wait to see it!

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

I hope they root well because I sure would like to have one.It really doesn`t have to bloom to be pretty.

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Busybee, I can try and root you one. Never done it before but willing to give it a try for you. Let me know.

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

Dee, I sure would like for you to try. I`m sure we can work out some kind of trade. Appreciate it.
