This hibiscus was labeled only Hibiscus 'Red Hot'. I can't find any mention, anywhere, of a hibiscus by that name. It came from Home Depot or Walmart. We thought it was real pretty.
Can y'all help me with this?
This one had been talked about back the end of Jul. Eclipse said it is Hibiscus Cooperii. I have one also and so did quite a few others
Thanks so much!
Woooooo hooooooooooo.......now I know what my Cooperi is gonna look like.

CC, is that the one you started for me?
Is that the Hibiscus with pink and green leaves.
Calla, its one that Dee bought when she was up here and she gave me two ,You have one of them.I love the way it looks,I'm thinking of putting my 2 variegated in the same pot. They look really neat together!
Gloria, yes it is. Do you need/want a piece?

I took a peice of this one at the botanical gardens there but I didn't get home quick enough it died on me will have to go buy one now
Irish, I'd be happy to start some cuttings for you.
Floridian,
How do you start your cuttings? Do you use the greener stems?
Joydie, I've only rooted a couple of hibiscus, one was a single, the other a red Turk's Cap (Malvaviscus arboreus). In both instances I took a whole stem (branch) and cut it into sections 5-6 inches each. I rooted them in water on a windowsill. All of them rooted, fairly quickly. I gave the Turk's Cap to my sister and it is getting big now. The rest did not survive as I had no place for them, I was still in an apartment last year. I'm sure there are much better ways to root them. I'll try the 'mini greenhouse' as well as the water and see what happens.
this is gorgeous!! it has missed its debut in this area though snow queen is all over recently. I can't wait to see it!
I hope they root well because I sure would like to have one.It really doesn`t have to bloom to be pretty.
Busybee, I can try and root you one. Never done it before but willing to give it a try for you. Let me know.
Dee, I sure would like for you to try. I`m sure we can work out some kind of trade. Appreciate it.
floridian.... if you don't mind I would love one and we are close enought that if its ok with you I would be happy to pick it up
Hey Pete and Floridian, Arlene is having a plant swap on 9/14. Would ya'll be interested in coming up??
