This is one of those grocery store house plants sold under the brand of Exotic Angel. Has anyone seen or grown one called Purple Passion? It has bronze/purple leaves and look like it has a thin coat of purple velvet on the leaves. It is almost neon looking when the light hits it. Anyone familiar with it?

I kept it as a houseplant all winter. divided it and put it in the plant sale. had two left and I put one in the ground in all morning sun, and it's doing wonderfully. the one in the pot died.
I found their website. What a cool plant!! Do you like it tiG? Did you know there is a variegated one?? Man, I so live in the wrong zone! LOL The proper name is Gynura. I tried to hyperlink both but they only go to the main website http://www.exoticangel.com/ where you have to click on '250 varieties'.

BS, I remember the first one I ever had. Bill bought it for me in a hanging basket(about 20 years ago) and I killed it. BTW, they smell 'wonderful' when they bloom, first time I smelled one bloom I thought I'd stepped in dog poop.

I bought one on our ill fated R UP nursery visit. It was on sale for $1., just one long stalk which I have cut in several pieces to root. I have even rooted some of the leaves. I think it's pretty, dark ruffly, velvety leaves. I think that Calla wanted to lose me so she could have my plant!!! I will share if somebody wants one.

Sure it was worth it - fun memories, I might not be able to do that in a very few years! I have this lovely plant to remind me!!
