My very first brug bloom. I'm so excited, keep going to look at it. DH asks if that is my baby. Hoping one of the other two will be pink. The one in the ground just Y so don't know if it will have time to bloom before frost.
Look what I have
Lucky, lucky girl!! Beautiful shape and I love the tendrils.
That is a special one!
Very pretty.
you might have time before winter if it's already Y'd. this one is beautiful!
You are very lucky. was this a seedling or do you know its name?
LizH, gongrats with your first one. The point of no return *smile* When you have grown one, you will want them all. *lol* Its very beautiful and I like the shape very much. Does it stay white or will it change its color later on? When I first saw it I thought my eyes was diceiving me, because I thought it was Apricot Riese. *lol* There are tiny differences thoug in the way the calyx split and AR is a bit more narrow, where the flower and calyx meet. How big is it?
lizh, they will bloom in the house after frost,3 of mine did last year!
Thank you all. It is 11 inches from tendril to tendril and looks like its turning pale orange on the outside but still white inside of bloom. Don't know what kind it is . I bought 3 at a green house, she said they were pink or yellow. they were about 10 inches tall. looks like the other one I have in a pot will be the same color, the bud is half way out.
Tonny is right--you can't go back-you are hooked!! Beautiful flower. I always like the long tendrils. What do the leaves look like? It might help to id it. Congratulations!
I'll put a picture of the other one up. they look the same but haven't taken the big leaves off this one.
Thats a pretty one, lizh!
Nice cousin. I'm going to get me some brugs this fall...and grow them in the house if need be. Jo
You just let me know when you want some Jo. I'll get that basket out again. :)
I'll send you some JO!
Versicolor x aurea or multihybrid involving those two in some combination is my guess. Very nice and I can't place it. Is that a seedling? Sure the owner didn't make the mistake of taking some seeds from one of his flowers and think perhaps that like color would breed like in all his children? Are the leaves velvety, narrow,....
Brugmansia, The leaves are smooth and very big. I posted a picture of the other one yesterday and you can see the leaves.
Lizh I know exactly how you feel and I am so happy for you and your new baby. All I can say is....lovely just lovely.
Its not a hybrid I recognize. Is it a seedling?
Brugmansia how can you tell?
