I am just sick

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I just went outside to look at my brugs. I was watering
a bed that has several in it and it is windy outside.
I found the largest part of my Jean Pasco laying on
the ground. It had y'd at the base of the plant and all
is left is the smaller piece although it does have some
buds on it. If anyone wants some cuttings, please let
me know.

Why don't you try rooting the piece with buds?

jerodsmom..root the bigger pieces in water and start over.

Patricia, I've had it happen before and it is amazing how fast the brugs will recover. I'd try rooting the big piece too.

yes, blooms will still open in water, odds are!

I agree with Arlene, I've even rooted pieces with seedpods and they stayed on.

So there - all is not lost! Hope you didn't give the whole thing away on the other thread. LOL

Look at the positive side. After you enjoy the blooms. You can make cuttings and trade them for different brugs you don't have.

That is so disappointing!! I have rooted huge pieces in water with buds and they have bloomed for up to a month later, while still in water. The flowers are smaller than what they would have been , but hey.....they are blooms!

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. There
is still the one limb that is in the ground and is loaded with buds. I am going to root myself a couple large pieces from the piece that broke just for reassurance.
The rest I will offer for trades. I did immediately stick
the whole trunk of the broken piece in a bucket of water.
It still looks fine this morning.

Keep it in the shade! watch the water, if it gets murky change it. let us know how you do!
