This is the sport on Peaches and Cream. It's completely lacking chlorophyll, it can't live if separated from the mother plant. It's also got a Y.
Monika help it's all white
No chance of it living? You don't think there might be an eenie weenie bit of chlorophyl there? It looks sorta yellow in the pic. It'll be neat to see how the flowers turn out.
Nope, no green. There was at first, a thin line down the center. Mow it's all white/cream and must have at least a line of green to live.
Cala leave it attached for now and save the pollen or cross to a dark pink or deep yellow.see how the flowers turn out...but DO NOT cross to a variegated plant..otherwise the seedlings will all be albinos and die.Was this the branch that was yellow with a green stripe earlier? :-)
Eclipse, yes, this is it. It lost the leaves at the bottom that had a bit of green in them. I can't put this one in direct sun, the sport part burns really badly.
well wait and see what the flowers are. Really one for the books on this one!! :-)
Cala, dont seperate it from the mother plant. It will not root. I have such a sport on Maya with a bud. I will make pictures. Most of the time, these sprouts die at a certain size.
Monika ... this is off topic. are u by any chance near the Prague flooding? we are concerned of u and Wintermoor seeing the devastation on the news. take care.
Thank you, Rose. I live far away from Saxony, in a mountain area, elevation 600m, not on the valley bottom, but on top of a hill. The TV pictures are horrible.
we know. in fact there are several threads on DG's concern. here are a few http://davesgarden.com/s/325271.html , http://davesgarden.com/s/324841.html to name a few. take care.
