Island Girl is a great plant and shows its versicolor parentage. Blooms 12" long, 5'skirt, 1" tendrils, 2 split calyx, mature leaves 8"l x 4"w. Flowers open greenish/cream with strong lime green segment lines and the tendrils are the first area to become peach. The mature flower retains some of cream at calyx and gradually turns to peach-the lime green segement lines remain in the mature flower. Blooms at approximately 42" first year.
The tendrils turn peach first
Very pretty and it is interesting how it changes its color. You have many pretty ones BW.
love the color of this one does it have the sent like a versicolor...??
Barb,

OH my, may have to go to Hattiesburg to see Ruby and make a midnight raid on Barb.
Are you coming to Hattiesburg any time soon?
Perfect picture - and I really appreciate your detailed description.
BWard, don't know if it will be Laborday weekend, or October. I haven't been down there yet this summer and I like to go a couple of times a year.
Island Girl is very pretty. I don't know how all of you get such nice blooms. It has been a bad year here for them. They melt in the heat.
Calalily, make sure you let me know so I can arrange a visit.
Brugie, I take pictures about 6:30-7:30 in am. by 10:00 they are drooping.
Beautiful flower.
Beautiful flowers, Barbara
