Growing in a local garden, fortunately some of it had grown through the fence so I could take a picture.
Common name: Flowering Maple, Palour Maple, Indian Mallow 'Kentish Belle'
Family: Malvaceae
Genus: Abutilon
Well there is something I haven't seen before. What beautiful blooms and I love the colors.
very nice, gorgeous colour contrast, maybe you'll be able to keep the seeds if it's growing through the fence!
I like this one too Haighr :)
Lil, I could probably harvest the seeds but unfortunately they wouldn't look much like the parent :(.
hey, if you can get a picture from it growing through your fence, you suppose a cutting would root...hehe..seeds, maybe??? it's beautiful!!!!
Ahh sadly I went by early on Thusrday and it was no longer poking through the fence. Never mind, I've got too many plants as it is :)
darn it...i don't have enough! hahaha...oh well!
oh dear, never mind.
If it ever pokes it's way through the fence, or if you could sneak a cutting over the fence, I've never found anything so easy to start. I actually just stick it in the ground and it takes off. It's a no-brainer. Mine grows in full shade - and those bright flowers sure do light up the corner. And in my zone 9 garden it blooms 12 months of the year. Lilith, I'll see if I can collect the seeds from mine. I'm not really sure how you do it - whether to let them dry on the flower or not, but mine's blooming now. The flowers on the one I have aren't large - but they are the same form and color. I have a couple more - one with variegated leaves and the one in the photo that I can try to collect too.
