This is one I cut back in the spring. It had lost it's leaves in the fall because I let it get frosted on. I thought it was not going to put out and cut the stalk. The baby leaves were inside.

Thanks guys, I thought I'd killed it, I was so sad. It recovered though and loves being in the ground. (yes, I'll dig it up this fall)
