variegated asiatic crinum

pic is a month or so old, things change fast around here. the banana has found its way out from under the gloriosa lilies.

arlene, how did you get your gloriosa to bloom like that? mine put out one flower and then crooked..

MsJen, is it the first year? should bloom better next year. this is at the very end of the drain field, mostly sand, did have a brug there last year, some soil improvement. i dug up a few when tig and azalea were here, boy they have huge tubers. they knocked down the fence they were supposed to climb a couple of months ago.

arlene, it bloomed and died last year. i have been unable to find it again. i was pretty bummed about it.

The one you gave me is doing good. Do you leave it in the ground?? I put it in the bed with my other crinium's that get left in the ground.

Dee, yes i did leave it in the ground. eclipse, it's pretty big, largest leaf in the center is about up to my chest.

Dee, it died back last winter, wait til you see it IT'S IN BLOOM!!!! the tallest leaves are neck high on me, close to 5 feet!!! it is gorgeous.....
