Look at the black elephant ear that Gloria gave me in the spring. She thinks I use too much fertilizer. I think I used too much ironite, because it has lost a lot of black color.

That looks like a Violet Stem, they have purple stems and greenish leaves. It's huge!!

It's bigger now. I'll get another picture and put it on this site. This time I'll try to keep up with the disc and see if I can learn how to use it. (Maybe I won't get it so crooked.)

Marie,
That's not the Black Magic...it the one Cala mentioned...I have both....guess that means you need to come get the Black Magic ones. This one is a beauty keep feeding it and it will take over the world. LOL

Do both of these plants start out completely black when they are small. I'm talking about 3" tall. Because this one was totally black until it started putting on new leaves. Also, the new shoots that I transplanted are the same color (and I didn't use ironite any more!). Gloria, I think I will come get some other ones (black ones like Roz's) to go with the other thousand plants you have so generously given us.

marie, the Black Magic sometimes has light, sort of green leaves when it first comes up and Violet Stem sometimes has dark leaves. Isn't that weird?

No wonder I can never learn to identify. I guess I should have taken taxonomy in college instead!

Marieee, it really confused me at first.

Marie,
You have me confused now. LOL Anyway...come one over and get some of all of them and we'll mark them as we pull them up.
