Sent out my Secret Fall Swap today!

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Yep, I got it sent out - I know we still have til Aug 29th to do it, but I had the time now, who knows what next week will bring! Hope she likes it. This person has more stuff than me I'm sure, so it was kind of tough, especially since she didn't show a "wish List" - but she is fairly new to DG so I will forgive her!!

Clarksville, TN(Zone 6b)

Mine's in the mail too... although the whole thing was a "event". I sure hope the she LOVES the plants, goodness knows she'll get them quickly. I had no wish list to go off of... she posted one later, and I didn't see it.

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

I received my trade from Azalea yesterday. Thanks, gal!! I had to pot them all up in the greenhouse & I was afraid to plant any outside because it's 100 degrees and sweltering here in PA. What is hardy to you in Georgia may not necessarily be hardy here in PA, but in the greenhouse, it's always hardy. LOL. I watched the news tonight & they're getting flooded out in Europe and we're drying up here in the USA. It ain't fair! What I wouldn't give for some of that water over there. Not floods but some nice healthy rains for a couple of days. I'll post what I got from Azalea on Tig's new thread. Yep, I haven't even had time to put in a wish list yet but I printed out the directions. You see, I work a fulltime job (for Ahold Financial Services, who owns over 2000 supermarkets worldwide, including Giant, Tops, Stop & Shop, Bi-Lo, Martins, etc and on the weekends, I & my husband do about 20 craft shows a year. I make jewelry out of antique buttons & hubby makes woodcrafts, birdhouses, birdhouse gazebos, etc. On a good show, we'll make what I can make at Ahold in 2 weeks! And trying to fit in fussing around with my pond & greenhouse, and little Rat Terrier Dog & husband (can't forget him, now, can I?)there's simply not enough time in this world. I am 59 and am planning to retire in 2005 when I'm 62 & the Govt still has enough money left to pay me Social Security. What the heck, I earned it & am entitled to it. I plan to invest in some insurance for us somewhere & we plan to buy a 25 foot camper & start doing larger craft shows around the USA. I am looking forward to it. I also am a Ham Radio Operator, callsign WB3GRT but haven't even had time for that, so that is tabled until I retire. What the heck, transistors will keep. LOL. I guess I am a lady of all trades, and master of some. Now you all know about me, so I will get off my podium and thank you again for this camaraderie & plant trade. I will try to get mine mailed off on Monday. I took a bunch of cuttings a couple days ago & want to divide a couple things, too. Thanks again, Azalea. When I find out the name of that bromeliad you sent, I will let you know because I have it written down somewhere.

Got mine sent out today too - finally! It was sorta chilly this morning while I was out digging. The first of the Jerusalem artichokes are blooming. That means summer is almost over here - **sniff-sniff**

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Me Too...it was cold and we got 2 inches of rain...

But I braved the elements to dig things for my person.

I couldn't dig anything before it rained ,everything was as hard as cement

I am sending mine in the morning. Shannan

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

My husband is taking my secret swap to the Post Office this morning. I packed it up last night. Full of plants & seeds. Hope the recipient likes it. Just hope the plants get there ok. I wrapped the roots in moist paper towels, put those in plastic bags, leaving the top open, the unrooted cuttings, just dropped in the box and seedpackets are in a sandwich bag. Of course everything went into a large plastic bag with the top open. I didn't want anything to rot.

Greenfield, IN(Zone 5b)

Mailed my plants out today. The heat is just about unbearable. Don't know if some of them will make it, but others I feel sure will be okay. Hope the majority survive. Can't belive this! I just realized I forgot to label them. Had names printed and ready to cut and forgot to do it! Darn! I included a list but good grief, didn't label them! I don't believe it! I'll do my best to describe and name when she receives it.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Ginger - maybe she can figure it out by your list - send her a real descriptive email. I have recieve several trades that were not labled.
