Oh, now I really miss mine. It came up this year again, but due to the drought it died back before blooming. Hope it makes it next year. I watered it for a while, but even that wasn't enough. Thanks for sharing yours!

I saw the Rocket at a friend's house several years ago, so the next time I saw them at a greenhouse, I bought two. They've survived for three seasons on the edge of my yard where they get 1/2 day sunlight. I think they like our cool moist soil. Hope yours comes back for you.

Hope so too. Mine is in a shaded area, but over the years I have found it wants a lot to drink and I sort of petered out this year in our drought and neglected to keep it from dying of thirst.

Lord, if they like water, mine should be crying with joy! Seward seldom lacks water. In fact, many plants rot out here if they don't like water.

weez,
do the slugs leave this plant alone? my slugs are the worst right next to the woods, of course. i thought i was doing well with battling them and it seems like if i get ahead of them, there are more to replace them in a weeks time.
anyways........i want to add some height and color to my woodlands/shade garden and i liked the look of this plant.
thanks debi z

The Rocket is a real show stopper. Everyone that walks my yard comments on it, whether it is blooming or not. The leaves are huge, heart shaped and saw-toothed with dark veining. The stems are almost black.

I have two plants I bought about 4 years ago, and they seem to like the half day shade where they are planted. They really haven't spread much, but the soil is not the best there.

I'm hoping to get some offshoots to sell. I've tried germinating the seed, but no luck so far. Maybe we don't have time for the seed to truly mature here. I spent about $10 each for these plants, and that's a lot for an old seed grower like me!
