Long time

Catoosa, OK(Zone 7a)

I just wanted to say hi to all of you wonderful people. I have not been on here in a long time. I had some pretty bad things happening for a while and just didn't have the heart for it. I lost interest in a lot of things for a while. I am trying to get back to normal though. I have been reading some of the recent posts and couldn't resist writing. I hate to admit it but my plants have all suffered too. I keep reading about everyones blooms and beautiful plants and feeling really jeaulous. This is a good thing! I honestly had lost all interest. I really need to get up and get on with my life. Maybe this is just what I need to get back in the hang of things. I just hope you guys have not forgotten me. I have not forgotten you. I see that you have gotten a lot of newbies addicted to brugs too! :-)

Yes we certainly do need more rain. There is a restaurant around the corner that tossed out 10 gallon jugs. I washed them thoroughly and on our days to water I fill up all of the jugs with the fertilizer mix so I can water on both odd days and even numbered days. Some days I have to water the plants in the afternoon as well.

For the first time in 20 some odd years my front garden looks stunning! My plants are huge and healthy. This year its almost all tropicals with only a few perentials and 4 varieties of dwarf roses. Everyday someone stops to comment on my plants and ask me what I'm growing (brugs). Most come back again to see if any have flowered yet.

In the fall I will have to plant bulbs as over the years the squirrels have dug up and eaten most of them. The Royal Botanical Gardens here always has a Fall plant sale in September with some wonderful bargains, great plants and lots of unusual ones too.

Hi GreenLeaf! I am one of the newly addicted. LOL Welcome back. I think we all have got our butt kicked by life's little ferris wheel, wearing many boots. :) Glad to see you on the rebound. I hope things calm down for you. Nothing brings a smile like the blooms in the garden. And there is always another growing season coming. Chin up.

It is so nice to hear from you all. I really needed someone to tell me that things would get better and that I am not alone. I am starting to look forward to next spring and another try at getting something to grow. I know if I stick around, you guys will have me up and at em in no time. :-)
It has rained here for the past couple of days, really strange for August, but we needed it so badly. I will not complain. I have actually been trying to get out the past few weeks and try to salvage some of my plants. The rain really helps. Oh, yeah, Hibiscus I am in Ok. zone 7.
Thanks everyone!!!!
