Yes, Poppysue, the black peony poppies are beautiful, but get lost in a photo if taken at a distance. I think of their satiny sheen as looking like a freshly curried horse. (Lord, I had to look up the spelling... didn't want you thinking curried horse is a culinary phrase... it's spelled the same, so please note that I am referring to a good brushing!)
