Hi to All,
all questions I did not understand because I miss some words, sorry....
I have had one!!! HG Flower and I have three large plants.
I have had about 40 buds at HG, all fallen down...cold nights (in GH also ) to hot during the day.
I´m in zone 7b and outside the HG is just growing, you never will have flowers at...
I don´t use chemicals to force flowers, I hate it because the plants are not more themselves, they have to flower by chemicals and not by normal growíng.
Such plants are Frankensteins, they will die soon.
I have some seedpots with HG ( father ) I think next year I will throw away all my HG´s. I will use this place in GH for better blooming plants.
That is not the point of this exercise: To have a very large Brug with one flower and very much dead buds......
I think I will disapoint some friends here, I am just honest.
HG is the worst "flowerbringerplant", I mean: Every other brug will have hundrets (more than 100) if HG will have one.
Please be patient with my replays: We have much rain and wind in Europe this "summer", often I have to care my brugs and to work.
Next winter I will find my way to DG, I´m shure, smile.
I will try to send a pic from my "Avalonaurea"

it's beautiful. When you say you don't use chemicals to force flowers, are you saying you don't fertilize? If you do, what do you use? Apparently you're doing everything right:)
Hi tig,
I use much fertilizer, smile. 15-30-15 Miracle grow.
With flowerforcing chemicals I mean some chemicals which bad nurseries use.
A young plant who want to grow get some chemicals to force the flower, thats not fertilizer thats violation.

Ludger, Brugman already composted his HGs. i believe he couldn't get seeds to set on them. Please don't stay away too long, we will miss you and wonder, and then we'll all start sending you emails!
Thanks Ludger for your comment on HG flower capacity. One to a few flowers on a large plant is way to little. Mine will probably behave the same way, when it reach to the flowering stage, so I will just hope for a few flowers and use the pollen with careful thought. *lol* I have Hertchenbrücke in full bloom at this minute. It puts out flowers like a crazy. Its only a small plant, not very tall, but it has 6-10 at a time. I think it will have hundreds, if it is allowed to grow to a large tree.
Is your Avalon the same as you gave me? If it is I like the name so very much, that I like to refer to it as Avalon. *smile* Is it btw. Avalon from the mythology or from Brian Ferrys song?
Hi Arlene,
I will have "contact" with DG each day, smile. What I tried
to explain: Sometimes I can not replay at once, because I don´t have time.
Right now I would have to sleep but I like this group very well.

I think Brugman did the best way with his HG.........
TiG, there are lots of chemicals to force flowering and I don't mean bloom booster. There is something called "Florel" that is used on lots of things. It initially delays flowering, but then forces all the flowers to open at once. It's used on Azaleas, Mums, Scaveola etc. There is something called Ga3 used on lilies, callalilies, and things like that to force them to flower. I know there are lots more, but since we don't use them (that's right, our mums aren't sprayed, we control height by spacing)I don't know much about them.
A lady came by from Royalty Administration(I have licensing agreements to propigate patented stuff) and she couldn't believe we didn't use Florel on the mums since they were so uniform and well rounded.
I just wondered because of the language difference if that's what he meant. :) and Ludger, if you are like us, this site is addicting as brugmansia:)
Cala, do you know if any of the vendors for places like Lowes and Pikes nurseries use these chemicals??
TiG, the ones that sell to Lowes do use them.
figures!!! so if I want pansies, say. Does that mean they will do excellent at first and then peter out??
Ludger,
Thanks so much for your information on the HG Brug.
TiG, probably only a growth regulator has been used on the pansies. We don't use those either. If they didn't use too much(and you could tell, the pansies would be way too stunted)they will be fine. It's only a temporary inhibitor.
Hey Tonny.................lets sing
Now the party´s over
I´m so tired
Then I see you coming
Out of nowhere
Much communication in a motion
Without conversation or a notion
Avalon
When the samba takes you
Out of nowhere
And the background's fading
Out of focus
Yes the picture changing
Every moment
And your destination
You don´t know it
Avalon
When you bossa nova
There´s no holding
Would you have me dancing
Out of nowhere
Avalon
Ludger,
How is the seed pod coming along? Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Liz,
I thought it was your turn to keep an eye on Kelley...I see she is out again singing songs this time. LOL
Glory, Liz is trying to get me to dance also.............. so I would not leave her in charge of me!!! But I think Tonny is going to need the watching more than I do!! LOL
Glory - sorry - was asleep at my post. She must know my routine and outlasts me. I think she stays up all night. LOL
How did I miss this pic. Love it.
