Have a look
HG4
Ludger you have me in awe!!
Guess it is worth the trouble!
Ludger,
Have you had any problem with your buds falling off before they mature? I live in a very hot and humid area of the USA and so far I cannot get any bud to stay on the plant long enough to open. Monika was tell us that the buds falling is normal for this plant....what has been your experience with the HG? What are your weather conditions like?
Thanks
Glory

Glory and Ludger, not trying to butt in here, but I'm having the same problem with Culebra. Has lost all her buds now and just has tiny ones starting again. Any suggestions?
S.
I haven't had any buds yet on my Culebra yet....I'll have to go out and look.
It is so lovely and the color is beautiful, I love the triple blooms.
S,
No buds on Culebra yet.
the color is so luscious! I hear that HG wants to be on the California coast to grow.............. and flower! I will let you know!
Brugie,
may be Culebra and HG needs the same climate? Sorry, I dont know.
I have three culebras and all are doing well, but small plants without flowers.
GL
Thanks guys. Arlene grows them in Florida with no problem. I've had lots of buds, but only a few made it up to near bloom. What a disappointment. I'll keep trying and will see if keeping it moist all the time will help. I only water it when I water the others and maybe it just isn't wet enough. I appreciate you help and hope that one of us will get buds and flowers soon.
Brugie
try to plant fast groing plants undr your Brugs. They will transpire water ( humid )may be it will help your brugs.
GL
The other plants under your Brugs will " show" you to water.
Something like Impatient or Mint or...
Okay, good idea. Will have to wait until next year now though. Our summer will be over in two months. I do have foliage plants under two or three of them and they sure do let me know when the plants are getting dry. Just didn't put anything under Culebra and HG because I was afraid to do something wrong with them. My HG is new this year, about 4 ft. tall and thick. I've heard that it will take two years to bloom, so I'm trying to quit looking at it for that Y. Just check for bugs daily. The way I keep watch over all my babies, it is a wonder they don't rebel. Thanks again for the idea of using impatiens. Will sure try that next year. By the way, I'm really enjoying all of your pictures and information.
Ludger that is a great idea. I have some coleus, impatients and burgandy leafed rex begonia underplanted with some of mine.
Just checked my HG yesterday and again it is full of buds but I'm not getting excited yet.
Hope you DO have some good luck this time. I'd love to see one in full bloom.
Glory,
Good luck with some blooms that will develop and open for you!!
Oh I hope they stay oon. I would love to see a picture of lots of blooms. Use superglue if you need to Glory!
