I harvested 8 large seeds from one of my lotus pods. They are way bigger than they usually are, so figured these are good. Question. How do I plant them? In a pot in the pod?

Thanks TiG, I'll try it.
Oh Susie! I am so jealous! I grew some from seed a few years ago and stupid me tried to overwinter them indoors. Let's just say it did not go well. LOL A girl at the fish/pond place has turned out to be the wife of a relative. She is supposed to pinch some seeds for me. They only have two Lotus plants for sale and they are $100 each. OUCH. lol
I only paid 50 for mine, and it was in the big pot that's by the pool. Come down here and I'll take you there.
Oh I remember the big pot. Had it fit, I may have smuggled it into my car before I left! LOL You actually would put me back on the road?
seed, my DH (who loves you) wants me to start you one from seed and send it in the spring. I made a good trade for some awesome seeds.
tiG, your hubby loves me too?? I have never met such an awesome group of people! :) That would be really great if you want to do that. I am supposed to get some from the hatchery/pond girl though. If I do, I will definately let you know so you can share with someone else. You have been so generous already. ((((tiG))))
yes, he loves you too. I was telling him that next year we've have good lotus again because of the seeds. He asked if you had a lotus and told me I needed to start one for you!
btw, if we don't get to send you one, he'll be really disappointed!!
You have got to stop being so nice to me before you make me cry! I loved your whole family. :)
LOL!! oh, he's just an old f*rt! nothing to cry over LOLOLOL!! he loves Susie too, but don't be jealous:)
he is a sweet sweet person!!
Your seeds look wonderful, you can always test a viable seed by floating them in water, if they sink, they are good ... I just don't have the heart to throw away any Lotus seed so I give the rejects a chance in our lakefront.
If you will visit our website, click on Water Gardening, then Lotus you can read my Lotus Growing Guidelines. They should help you sprout your seeds and grow Baby Lotus. http://www.victoria-adventure.org
You can email me if you need further help.

OK, they are in a pot of sand in the water tub garden in the tropical house, min in winter 45*. I figured that was safer than in with the frogs and fishes.
