Abutilon, I have that kind, too. Didn't know if it was crinum or spider lily, but it sure is hardy. Comes back each year and almost no care at all. I have noticed tho that if I don't give it lots of water in the hot hot part of the year, blooms do not make.

I have the variegated form..........white stripes on the leaves. :-)

Kell, thanks for this link. Interesting.
He said this was a very old variety.
Looks it is, too.

Jen, that would be great if you have one or two I could have. I really like crinum. When is the best time to thin out? I need to do this too.

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

Roz,
If you are thinning out your white crinums will you save a few for me when I get over that way? We have the milk and wine if you want some of those but I really love the white ones.
Thanks

I dig them when i need to. I find that they are extremely easy to transplant, the hardest thing is getting them out.
They are in a part of the yard that never gets watered, so they dont normally bloom until after we get our first heavy rain. i think its usually about july that they start.
if you want to wait until the fall, ill dig some for you and bring them over. if you want them now, ill dig and bring over too, lol

Thanks, Jen. Think I'll wait til Fall.
Connie, I will definitely save you some. If Jen thins in the Fall, or as she said whenever, then just let me know when you want them. Marie and I were supposed to divide them last year, but never did, so she will be glad to know they are easy to transplant.
