Hi,
I bought a ton of iris and glad (yes, I am shortening it becuase I'm not 100% sure how to spell it and am too lazy to go look!) bulbs with the intent of planting them this spring and enjoying the flowers this summer. Well.....THAT didn't happen...hehe. Can I just plant them now for next year's blooming? Or do I have to wait until next spring? And if I DO have to wait...will they still be okay to plant next spring, or is it a 'plant them the year you buy them or you're out of luck' type deal? My first time buying/planting either.. :)
I'm in Zone 8 if that matters....pretty mild here in the winter.
Thanks for any help!
Abi :)
Too late to plant iris and glads?
Abi,
Now is the best time for planting the Irises, they will bloom next year..Water well when planting..In your zone, glads should have time to grow and bloom..I am in zone 8, (south GA), and I plant them at 2 week intervals to have them blooming all summer..I planted a few just last week, and they will be fine unless Mother Nature throws us a really huge curve, LOL..
Larkie
Thank you SO much for the help...and especially since this was the answer I was hoping for! You made my day! :)
Abi : )
