Nice photo, jmLisa! I see that you added the cultivar name 'white dragon' Someone has created a Plant Files page for 'white dragon,' but there are no photos for this cultivar on that page:

It would be great if you could have the admins move the photo to the cultivar page for best illustration of this ginger.

Thanks,

sure will Jeremy. I'll bring it to Mel's attention. I sure do miss my gingers! It was nice to look at this picture again, my old gardens in s. louisiana..*sigh* ... although I'm glad I'm not there today. Gustav made landfall over my hometown.

Thanks! Yes, I do hope things go better in the New Orleans area than Katrina. I was glad to hear that most people had evacuated. It would be difficult for me, I know, to ever leave my home for a storm, but sometimes it may be the only option.

I just got a few more Globbas from a DG friend here in town. They have become one of my favorite ginger plants.

they were my favorite too. I remember when I saw my first one, it just took my breath away. I had at least 4 different varieties.

New Orleans really missed the bullet this time. We lived 65 miles southwest of N.O., in Terrebonne, Lafourche Parish. The eye made landfall right over where I used to live. I honestly don't know if I would have left or stayed...I know it sounds crazy, but it is so hard to leave. I'm just glad I don't have to worry about making that decision anymore.

Have a great day,
Lisa
