Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I have a croton, orange, red, yellow, green. Do not know the name?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

here's this one, it has a lot of pink in it. I may just settle for a regular croton at Walmart, but this is lovely. Just bad timing:)

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

tiG thats one we don't have..we have about 23 kinds at work..the dome keeper went crazy once and ordered all he could find..:-)

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

23 kinds????????? I never knew there was more than one. where would be a good source to look at some?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I CANNOT believe I found this at Lowes!!!! and 3 other thin leafed varieties too!!! I got the small ones, but will feed them this winter so they can show off next year. I was in 7th heaven!!! happy dancing here.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

wow.......that is great! So where are you going to ovewinter them all?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I have a 15 x 20 (well, guessing but that's close) bedroom that we're clearing out. I have the lights already, so as soon as I can get off my behind and clear the dungeon, I'm set! last year we used half the living room and this year we want a christmas tree!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

And htey do well inthere? what lights do you use? I have my kid's room I could use if my husband will not kill me first! i could leave his bed in the middle for when he comes home for Christmas............

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I have about 20-30 regular grow lights, a few cool lights and a few warm, all fluorescent and one big metal halide light. They did good in the living room last year, you could see my house for 5 miles, but I didn't care. I'll have more room and more lights this year than last.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

the electric company will alert the feds............ LOL, you will get a big visit!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

tiG, from what i understand, tropical or houseplant should not be fertilize in the winter time. they need to rest. i do all my feeding when weather are much warmer. never on winter time. maybe Kyle can elaborate on this.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I'm going to pot them up tomorrow and feed at least once. With the lights they should grow even if I don't feed them much. No telling when the last time they were fed at Lowes! My kids gave me a gift cert for my bd, and I got 3 new coleus, 4 crotons, soil and MG!! not bad for 'free' LOL!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

LOL tiG! u deserve it. have u ever tried using Shultz 20-20-20 All Purpose fertilizer for foliar feeding? it is almost same as as MG 15-30-15. ever since i found it the 1st time at WalMart, all plants seems to be doing great! same price as MG too ;)!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Have you used the peters foliar with their sprayer? the sprayer has all kinds of great settings but it immediately leaked (flooded) out from where the bottle screws into the top part no matter how tight I had it. I also did not notice any results from it. I bought shultz one also, so will try that next. My MG sprayer has worked for years.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Kell, try to use 2 gasket, maybe that will help. that is what i do when the water leaks. it keeps it tight and snug.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I got the Peters sprayer for 1.50 at HD on clearance. It's okay, but will get one of the better ones next year. it was already so late in the season. I've been using Walmarts Deep Feed (generic MG) and it's done fine, but got MG since I was at lowes. Lowes had a 10 bag box of MG for 17, I didn't think that was so bad.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I returned it Ma Vie............

MG just went up this year. I can't believe how expensive everything is. I just sprayed with VF-11 today and used epson salts on everything. I cut back my roses to inches, and fertilized alot. For one more beautiful full flush of blooms before winter!! my potted brugs now need to be watered at least once a day........
even though I am sad to see the season end, I could use the rest!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

what is VF 11??

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

a foliar feed that I used last year weekly and I had the best flowering on all my plants. I am sorry i did not use it more this summer. I also had much fewer problems!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Kell if not mistaken, VG 11 is the fertilizer for african violets???? if memory serves me right, i used to use that on houseplant and orchids years ago. it is in a white bottle with black & white label?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It is for everything MaVie, it really gets plants blooming for a long season. I loved it on my impatiens but also on all my annuals!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

yes that's it! somehow i knew my memory hasn't failed me yet LOL! thanks Kelley :)!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

how expensive is it kell?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I can't remember, I buy it by the gallon and it is about $14 I think. maybe more. it lasts for a long time. I use it in a hand pump sprayer instead of a hose end sprayer.
The link I provided says you can order an 8 oz sample for just $3 and that includes mailing. A great deal! you should try it!
