May 1, 2000 - for real

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Good morning!

Summer's here! Hit 90*F yesterday. In one weekend, the hills have all turned from green to brown. Cows have been moved back onto one of the pastures and were happily chewing their cud in the afternoon sun.

Trying to get laundry done before going to work this a.m. Now that the DDs are all teens, they have more "stuff" going on after school, so it's been a real challenge for everyone to get everything done. They end up staying up late, I end up getting up early.

KJo, I have no idea what kind of hosta. They were just marked hosta with a sharpie marker and $1 on them. I like rescuing things (plants, animals, children), I like surprises, and I'm cheap - so I guess Wal-Mart had my number and found me something I just couldn't resist ;-) Pretty strategic marketing on their part! I got my bearded irises a few years back the same way. Of course, I have no idea what type of bearded irises I have, but that doesn't make them any less loverly.

Looking forward to some really good strawberries this weekend. Bing cherry season's right around the corner.

Well, time to get ready and go. Take care, everyone.
