My wish list

I guess I am not computer literate at all. I have been trying all night to figure out how to work my Journal and I am so confused. I used GoVols instructions, that she posted a while ago and could only get so far with it....

So, what I am posting here is a temporary "Wish List" for the secret trade. I will enjoy any plants that I receive, but just thought my trader might have something I want anyway.

Here it is:
Monarda - Jacob Cline or any kind
Rudbeckia - Goldstrum
Coneflower - White swan
Helenium - Flammenspiel or Moreheim Beauty
Phlox - Starfire or David
Veronica - Sightseeing/the type with tall spikes
Aguilegia - any type
Saxifrage
I need mostly sun plants, as my little shade garden is getting pretty full.

Thanks "Secret Trader" of mine, I will do my best to take care of anything you send me. All of the plants I received from Sprouts 28 on the last trade are growing beautifully.

I think it would be nice if everyone posted a list of current wants here. I know we all will be happy with what we get but it couldn't hurt. What does everyone think?

SoCal, I'm with you - don't know why but can't seem to add that want list. I'll be happy with anything but I have more shade than sun. Love perennials, especially unusual. Can even use houseplants as I have a Florida room and growing lights. Collect hostas, sedums, iris, daylilies, penstemon, toad lilies, heuchera, tierella, anemones - I just love plants!!! Brenda

Oops, I forgot, I love alstromerias and brugs (I only have one color - white)!!!

I have a greenhouse and sun and shade gardens-no pond yet!
I luv houseplants and tropicals
I luv anything different:
green delphinium-or any green flower
red delphinium or red flowers
a rose of any kind- i have None
daylilies
IRIS of any kind =]
bushes or trees
berries or grapes
anything!
That should give my trader some ideas! Im easy to please!
Please no lambsear-its everywhere!!!

Hello traders out there...

I am looking for dark-leaved plants that are hardy to zone 7 or dark colored flowers as well. Also, I am searching for peach-colored flowers. Sun or shade. I will add that whatever you send, though, will be appreciated and cared for.

Is it too late to request any Baptisia, Liatris, Thermopsis or pure white foxglove? So few items outside of the fenced area will survive the ravages of the deer, squirrels and wild turkeys.

I have no greenhouse or any space for houseplants. (Except one large pot of mixed coleus from the coleus trade)


I have the following to trade out:

Iris - mixed (bearded)

Asters - white or purple

Black clover, not really black, but dark purple with mint green edges, it IS invasive, likes moisture, sun or shade, and it is hardy to zone 4! Trifolium repens atropurpureum

Columbine - mixed , Aquilegia - mixed varieties

Sweet Violet - Viola odorata

Shasta Daisies - Chrysanthemum (Leucanthemum) superbum,
C. maximum

Rose Campion - Lychnis coronaria - fuzzy white foliage, crimson-magenta flowers

And some surprises for the one who receives my trade.

evelyn, watch out!!! you may be flooded with emails. I think the wishes here are for the secret trade, but nothing wrong with you putting your list out there. Hope you all get some great things in the swap.

The best part of the secret trades for me is receiving plants I never thought about putting on my wish list! John

Mine is anything that I can pick and put in vases especially pink and white, but anything fragrant is great! Favorite flowers:
Tall garden phlox
clematis
pinks
fern, other than asparagus
foxgloves
asters
peony
Plus tons of others I can't think of, like ALL flowers! (The above are just mentioned as my grandmother grew these in her yard back in the 1930s, and I have fond memories of these.)

In the secret trade I will put some things that are not on the list, as I only have some in small quanities.

Are we supposed to not tell our secret tradee when we will send our package to them?

This is my first time on secret swap. Some things I cannot send right away. Is there a deadline as to when we send the packages?

evelyn you put a note in the box and you have to put your return address on the box anyway-so thats when they find out who has their name~!

These are the plants for the secret swap. But after I pack the box, there will be extras. And I notice that the lists of wants from some of the other traders in this thread are ones I will have leftovers. So I will email you all then, I don't want to give away my hand. (heh, heh)

Donna Im so glad everything is growing well. I cant figure out how to do the want list either.
So I just wanted to say I love vines. I am always looking for tropicals, Angels fishing wand is a big want for me.

Hi Guys,
You do your wanted list just like your 'have to trade' list. After you fill it all in, there is another scroll box at the bottom for status. If you pull that down, you can pick 'have, will have, wanted' etc. Hope this helps someone.

I too couldn't figure out how to post a wish list in my journal or biography, I feel kinda funny about posting here but here goes;

Columbine - any
Hardy Geranium
Bleeding Heart
Foxglove - any
Gingers - any
Mint - orange, chocolate or pineapple
Bee Balm - pink
Daisies - perennial besides white
Jack in the Pulp
Lupin - besides purple
Hosta - named

The above are of course just suggestions anything given from the heart and the joy of giving will be cherished.

Well, I went back to add to mine, couldn't figure it out. Also couldn't remember my password for the other list. That's bad isn't it?

Aristolochia littoralis or Peruviana or Brasiliensis, beaumontia grandiflora, Araujia sericofera,Bouvardia longifolia, Duranta repens "Alba", Jasminum Humile "Revolutum", passiflora "Ruby Glow", passiflora coccinea, passiflora "cyanea", passiflora quadrangularis.Oh, forgot that I love gingers, would love to find a butterfly pink or yellow. I have a greenhouse, so it doesn't matter if they aren't hardy.

You have to add the "STATUS" of "WANTED" on your TRADELIST page like Badseed said. Not in the Journal.

Still couldn't get it to work, couldn't add anything to the ones already there.

You have to go to your tradelist, choose the category, then at the top of the page, it says 'add an item....'. I have great faith in you guys! If I can do it, anybody can! LOL To be honest, I had to print out the tutorials then do it step by step. Once you figure it out, it is not bad at all. :)

Then after you add the item on the tradelist page, scroll to the bottom left where it says "STATUS". Scroll till it says WANTED.

Wish list! Wow we can post a wish list! I'll have to figure that one out!
For now I would love to get a burg, what is a burg? Anything that is a vine, Except for Morning Glories! Ack! That's a weed on my land, or that can tolerate heat, and sun!

Oh Kathleen, what if all the person has is brugmansias? You will break their heart. (remember, stop brug abuse, grow one today)

Brenda, you got it! LOL After you fill in all the info, just like you do for items for trade, there is a pull down at the bottom. It says something like 'list the status for this item'. If you click on the arrow, 'wanted' is one of your choices. Just click on it and the submit button and your wish list is born!! I am blonde and have five kids sucking out my every brain cell. If I can do it anyone can! LOL

Badseed, you have to add 'wanted' as a status in the beginning, then it's there in the pulldown. for the life of me, I can't remember how I did it, and now it's already there. that's why so many can't get it to show, you have to add it.

But what if Ned (poooooooor Ned) decided to eat one????? I'd be devastated! And my poor little plant room to be is going to be full of callalilies and flowering maples, to say nothing of the agapanthus from Louisa! I'm not a fussy person - I've even been known to raise interesting weeds! heehee!

I don't think so tiG. Once you have your categories-Annual, Perennial, etc, you can click on those, then on add and item. I never put wanted in my pull down. There is a list there but not my own list.

I guess it's time for Dave or Trish to step in here!!
