Drop down white

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

It took three days for the yellow to disappear and for it to be all white.

Liz, I love this one....

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Do you like it better yellow or white?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I like the white - you can see the unopened bloom in the back that it starts out yellow.

Liz, which one is this?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

candida flore plena

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I hve this one but the blooms don't drop down like this maybe it doesn't like florida???

Liz, did you send me a cutting of this one yet? My x knightii this year is doing weird things, it's triple but not dropping down and my candida flora plena aka Logees species doesn't drop down like this either.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

brugcrazy you have both of mine - the Logees and the original double white I had.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Liz, Very nice pure white. Are the leaves downy?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Yes they are Barbara. This was the first double I had last year. Then it couldn't make up it's mind whether it wanted to be single, double or triple. I was very disappointed with it last year. Glad I kept it.

Liz, I have one named Logees Species and I thought the other doubles were from Paul?? None of Liz's specialty tags on them. Guess I'll just wait until it blooms, then I'll know. BTW. Thanks.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

You got both from me. The first few blooms stayed wadded up inside. I moved it into less sun and less wind, as Monika said, I guess it was just time.

Liz...it's pretty!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Pretty blooms Liz. Hope you are trying a cross with it.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Liz, when I moved mine to some shade, it did that too. The blooms dropped down. They are like yours too in that they start out yellow. The side of the plant in full sun still has wadded up blooms. Isn't that odd?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I seem to have pollinating paralysis this summer. Aside from one cross that probably won't work, I haven't crossed anything. I've got a freezer full of pollen.
I guess I better get my act together and do something.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Liz, what is the difference between the candida flore plena and logee's species?
thanks

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Not much of a difference, Kell, one has rippled leaves and the other dentate - can't remember which. Will check tomorrow. I have a picture from last spring when it was still wadded up if you'd like to see it.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

thanks Liz, I would love to............
