(Zone 5a)

Good morning all, hope everyone had a fruitful weekend. I haven't posted for a few days, been VERY busy. Thursday I ran errands (picked up 4 boxes of plant trades at the PO)came home then went to Moms house to help her pot up pond plants and get them in. Friday I started working on a new hosta bed 12'x14'; shoveling clay soil from a large pile into the bed then mixing in peat, manure and perlite. Got half of the bed done Friday then had to shower and go to a Pampered Chef party at 7. Saturday Dh and I had to make 2 trips out the road to get hay, about 40 bales and it was free, decent hay too. I didn't get started on the bed till about noon, my neighbors 12 year old daughter came down and wanted to help, I was shoveling and mixing more soil and she was a big help. Then I got to do the fun stuff, start planting my new plants! Had to cover all my new plants in all the different beds as we had a frost warning. Sunday my mom came over, I got a late start outside at about 11, we finished planting the new bed and planted a few tomatoes, peppers and raspberries in a catch all bed since my garden isn't plowed yet. Also planted some more plants in other beds and dug up some very established peonies, hosta, and sedum from around the old house on our property. Dh had to help with the hosta, there was 2 huge groups and they were tough!! We got 5 wheel barrow loads of just hosta! Mom took some and I have to deal with all the rest today, I could plant hosta all around my house! Boy it's hard to decide where to put what! Today I have to go get a load of manure and a load of mulch and deal with the sedum, peonies and hosta sitting by my porch. Have NO idea where to put everything. DH has gone out of town to work all week, will miss him. Well, I've babbled long enough. Everyone have a great Monday.
