I checked today. The color is slightly different on L'Amour adn the calyx is totally different as are the leaves. Guess I'll keep them both. I pollinated one with the other, so we will see if I get pods.
More L'Amour

Very pretty Cala. Did you get any seed pods?
No, they all fell off. But I did use the pollen on others and some have pods.
Beautiful brug! Any chance of getting a cutting off that one this fall? I love the dark pink brugs, but don't have any yet:)
Owen
A real Fat beauty! It IS on my want list!
Cala, the color is different than Pink Beauty. PB more intense and L'M dark Pink??
Cala, You forgot to use the super glue.LOL. Gorgeous flower.
I've been thinking...and you know that super glue idea is actually making more sense to me than ever. As the rot generally starts at the base of the seedpod where it connects to the peduncle...due to excessive moisture....I've had luck setting seedpods on those type hybrids by bending the flower back a bit and other such tricks to keep em dry...but perhaps a bit of glue...perhaps elmers wood glue around the base would keep the pod from rotting at that point. As the pod grew a bit bigger and was less susceptible to the rot then the glue would no longer be needed. Of course everyone knows a bit of glue is not going to be something to worry about....Save if one uses super glue and has to stay attached to the pod until it ripens.
lol again!
Nice color Cala
Barbara, yes I agree, they are both dark pink, but Pink Beauty is more intense and much bigger.
Owen, you will have to get in a long line for this one. It's a long line and I'm way behind. I hate cutting anything that has a bud on it.
one of the best brugs i've admired from the very beginning. very lovely L'Amour!!!!
Eric, can't you just use the Nu Skin that calla uses,it would keep moisture out I think
You know Brugman, doctors use superglue to seal up cuts instead of using stitches. The doctor I work for would use superglue to keep a hair plug in its hole if it kept popping out after a hair transplant.
