TiG, I didn't even know it had a bud!! I have little pots of cuttings stashed around the big brug pots and that's when I found this!! The flower is short and rather small, but I like it. Is this what's called an aurea?
C Ursaline X from TiG
looks pretty. you're getting on my nerves!!! lol!!!! JUST KIDDING!
TiG, if you come up and bring a truck, I'll give you some blooming brugs!!(you just have to send my big pots back)
they'd get here and not bloom!!! I have plenty, just don't know what I need to do to them. you really shouldn't have that one I started bloom before mine do!!!! LOL!! I want to whine and cry and stomp my foot. think it would help?
it is pretty, thought it was a candida...
Its so pretty,is it one of the seedlings?
yes, I sent a bunch of these seedlings out. this is the first one I've seen bloom. got the seeds from LBJ
Very pretty Cala . . and tiG I hope that you get lots of blooms soon. I think it is the heat that is causing the problem. All my hours of labor have yielded very few flowers since June. I have high hopes when things cool down a bit in September. If my hopes are not met . . there just might be some of them going to "brug heaven."
isn't it awful??? we've worked so hard, poor Azalea even drove all the way to FL, and we still can't coax them to bloom. If we don't go into a full watering ban, fall has to be better. if we do go into ban, I'll be sitting here looking at pictures crying:)
I have this one form tiG but it is still small. I started about a month ago giving all the brugs a good feeding of compost a couple times a week and they all seem to like it a lot. I have three blooming now and 4 more with buds. Last year I only had one that bloomed and it was September before it bloomed. I know I have several that won't bloom this year but I'll be ready with the compost earlier next year.
Cala - I have one from seed marked Ursuline x Cuba. Is it the same one? It has very dentated leaves. No bloom yet - but I sure like the look of yours.
Liz, I have the one marked A Cuba too. It's not bloomed, I got it from Snowhermit.
Pretty bloom. Wish I could distinguish one kind from another. I wouldn't know an aurea from a hole in the ground. Can usually tell versicolors though. In any case, I like it Cala.
Hang in there Bonnie. You will probably have gobs of blooms soon. Hope you get lots of rain so they don't have to ban watering, etc.
I'll wait on blooms if we can just get rain. funny how your perspective can change in less than 24 hours:)
TiG, we need rain too, going on a month since the last sprinkle. I'm running the sprinklers full time trying to get caught up.
We've had rain here yesterday and today but it is so cold. Stayed in the 50's today and tonight going down into the 40's.I have lots that have y'd and some with tiny buds. I just hope our growing season ian't cut short with an early cold snap and they have time to bloom. tiG, I'm sure as soon as the weather cools you will have lots of blooms. I'll probably be digging mine up and chopping them down when yours are all in full bloom.
Doesn't it just make you sick to think that we will have to do that soon? I'm hoping to get another two months out of my brugs, but the weather has a way of doing what it chooses.
I think the seeds we had gotten were "Ursaline x Cuba" & "Ursaline x Austrailie".... right Snowhermit? Also had "Versi-Peach x Butterfly" from LBJ seeds.
Right Poppysue. Those are the ones. Finally have buds on v. Peach x Butterfly.
I'll have to check today. I'm playing in the Jungle House today since it's my B'day.(no mums for me, hee hee)
