Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

Good Morning! I'm trying to work some of the stiffness out of my joints this morning. Riding mower isn't fixed yet, so did some mowing and then decided to look for morels. Found some late ones kinda dry, but Grandson presented himself in the middle of our morel season here. Have them soaking in the frig. When I came in from morel hunting hubby said my niece called. She wanted to come and see my ponies. Actually they had already left and were driving over. So here drives in my brother, neice and nephew. I had gotten one already haltered and the other two were easy. Well, I told my brother the kids were welcome to take them home with them for awhile. Certainly my Grandchildren are tiny babies and won't be riding for some time. We decided to walk them to his house. ok, now I think I have mentioned I live on one hill and then you go down to the creek bottoms and up another hill to his house. About a mile and a half , maybe two between. It went very well until we came to the creek. Ponies didn't want anything to do with water. Remember these are pony ride ponies. Halter on and lead around in a circle. Brother is a big chicken when it comes to untested water. So I wade in up to my thighs. OK, water is ok, see ponies? If I can do it so can you. no way was my little guy going to go across. So I took the pony my brother was leading. no problem for him. Then the old mare pony a little scared but she saw Joe the big pony cross with no problem so she crosses no problem. Then back to the white pony with brown spots. Still a no go , no way. I take him down to shallower water no way. His pony friends are nickering him to come on over. My niece takes the lead from me and lead him right in. So what is that all about? Geez. So we get the ponies to my brother's house about 9:00. It's getting dark and I need to walk home. Sister-in-Law is scared for me to walk home BY MYSELF? I told her I was a big girl and it would be no problem. Brother needed to get his car anyway. So back we go on return trip. Through the creek over the cornfields and back up my steep hill. Brother telling me I was walking a little stiffly. REALLY? Anyhow , the ponies will get lots of attention there until there are kids here to ride.
Also had a good day yesterday at the wool/fiber festival. I did know some of the sheep people there.
So today will be quieter right?
