I know this picture would have been twice as nice had I waited a couple of days, but I can't believe the blooms and buds on this thing. Really must like where he is placed, right out in full sun.
I think Suess is happy.
Wow that is a dandy. Beautiful .
yes, happy and beautiful. wish mine would kick in!
Sure looks happy to me!!
Shirley, that is gorgeous. Is this one that you leave in the ground? You must post again in a couple of days. It's beautiful!
It's really nice Brugie.
Brugie...way to go!! you must have a great coach!! LOL
You bet I do have a great coach. This one could have been dead too had I not changed my ways. :-)
I will post another picture when he has more open flowers. Thanks everyone for peeking at my Suess.
Frannie, in Iowa, we can't leave them in the ground. They would be compost material by spring if there was anything left of them.

Oh Brugie!! I am so impressed!! you must be in heaven! WOW!
So impressed!!
it looks fat and happy!!
Impressing, Brugie!
what in the world do you do with that huge thing in the winter??? I'm envious...
This is a two year old plant. One main trunk. I don't know what got into it this year, but it really went nuts. Bloomed a month after it came out of winter storage. This year it has to go to the compost heap. No room for something like this. I have another Suess that would not stand up in the basement, so it will also be composted and I'll just keep cuttings. Sometimes I just have to grit my teeth and toss. Thanks for your comments. Now, I'm off to fight with the mites again.
Brugie, with age, your bush will produce more and more flowers - at once! Dont you want to give it a chance?
Shirley....that is one mighty fine looking Dr. Seuss you have there. Mine is less than a year old and is blooming again like yours right now; this is the third flush this summer on it. Have it planted in the ground in full sun, but wish now it was in the shade....wilts badly during the hot afternoons here. It is about 5 ft. tall.....will have to compost it this fall too darn it:)
Owen
Monika, I'd love to keep it, but I don't think I can get it out of the ground. Maybe I'll have to find some strong guy to do the digging. The trunk is huge already. I do hate to see it go to the compost pile, but space is a problem. Jim has to be able to get to his wine room. :-)
Owen, mine wilts badly too, but sure comes back strong in the evening and this one does have a great fragrance. Not as pretty as Butterfly, but a good one.
