Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Lisa, you and your family are in my prayers. I would gladly have you move to mid MO, however we have a high population of meth labs here in our area. Boy would I love to have you for a neighbor. I do pray the authorities are able to apprehend the serial killer soon if they haven't already. May true justice be done in all the cases.
It was slow but steady at the cafe' last night. Shad didn't feel like going swimming for several hours so he stayed home and I got to keep all my earnings for the evening. I collected my first extra hours paycheck since mid May last night. There is plenty to buy the paneling for the bird house as well as the deck screws, etc. Now I will start working to pay for the big upright freezer my bosses are selling me. Having a project to work for makes each extra hour I work more purposeful. No more just working for spending money, etc. By the time I have the freezer paid for it will be nearly deer season. I want that freezer here and running at least a week before then. I'll start saving for Christmas money after that. Normally I only work an extra 2 or 3 hours each week at minimum wage so saving much money is slow going. However, this month I'll get in a lot of extra hours because the Saturday evening girl is working at the state fair and one of the bosses is taking a 3 day vacation this coming week. I'll work about 4 or 5 hours for 2 Saturday evenings & 10 to 2 this Monday, Tuesday, and maybe Wednesday to get them thru the lunch hour while she is gone. All this work is great for me to pay for things but it really tells on me physically. But I'm so thankful for my job because it's something I love to do(working in a kitchen with wonderful bosses and coworkers)and it isn't really hard labor. They are very understanding of my limitations.
I need to go pick pole beans and get them put up someway. I only put out about 15 Yard Long bean seeds this year. There are about 4 more volunteers on the fence behind the tomatoes and peppers. They seem to be going shelly much more quickly this year. The poor peppers are nearly buried amongst the luxurious tomato plants and are stuggling to suvive. I don't know if they will produce much if I don't give them some help soon. We do have a good crop of sweet banana peppers tho. I wish the pimento peppers would produce better for me. We would use a LOT of them if we had them. It is one of the few peppers Jack & Kyle can eat and not get stomach discomforts. However if I let all sweet peppers get RIPE they have fewer and milder discomforts.
I'm rambling so I'll close and get to work before it gets too hot outside. GOD bless and keep each and all of you.
KathyJo I'll be thinking of you as you get ready to return to the work world. Mary, best wishes on the ride this weekend. I wish I could be there riding with you. Jewel, you have had a hectic week so maybe you can rest this weekend. In my mind and heart I'm with you at the shows.
