It looks like my HG is making a Y. Has anyone got it to bloom yet?
I'll be darned!
Not me boss.....but mine is growing great now..was slow earlier..
Not me Poppysue. Was growing well but has slowed down . .I guess due to the heat. I have it in mostly shade. Sometimes I just don't know where to put what. Maybe I should put it back in more sun . . I just don't know.
Funny.... mine has grown really well. Maybe it likes cool weather? It was a hardwood cutting a couple of inches long and the thickness of a pencil, when I got it in a box from Eric. It has 3 or 4 trunks now and it looks like they're all starting to Y. Maybe it's not really HG... but something else that got mixed up along the line. I'm skeptical since I can't even get Frosty Pink to bloom!
poppysue, eric's bloomed but he couldn't gete pollen to stick or something. i found it started a little slow then grew pretty well. i think mine is starting to Y.
HG update:
More bud...for the fourth times and still they are falling off.:0( Maybe I should borrow Cala's new skin to keep them on.
Glory, i'm hoping they'll stick by fall for you and me both (i don't have any yet but hopefully by then). if not, i think i'll do like brugman and compost it!
Didn't someone say they take nearly two years to bloom? That is a long time to wait, and if mine doesn't bloom next year, without cutting it off, I'm afraid I know where it is headed too.
A lady on the garden forum said they like cool california and grow to be huge here.............I will let you all know.......though I have never seen one here........
Ludger told us at the german group last night, that his HG dropped the buds.
