Rosamond has the largest flower of the R - family, which includes the R - named hybrids Butterfly, Cinderella, Esperanza, Flaminia, Pink Beauty.
Rosamond differs from Pink Beauty with huge flowers (34 - 37cm and big, deflated calyx and a much stronger growth.
arlene, Rosamond, PB sister
Monika. . . I am so glad that you posted this picture and all the informtion. It is gorgeous and I am fortunate to have this one. It is a small plant but I look forward to its growth and blooms. It was extremely rootbound when I received it and is has not put out much new growth.
Monika, that you so much!!!! the only pic i have found of pink beauty was forwarded to me. if this is the same color as butterfly, i believe you are right and this is Rosamond!!! i did measure but middle of the day. length from stem to bottom was 14 inches which by my tape would be 36cm, the tendrils are right at 3 inches long including where they flare from the plant. it has very large puffy calyx that comes down far on the calyx. these flowers recurve at night, somehow they find the strength. i am going to post another pic i hadn't posted yet. do you have pics of pink beauty?
don't laugh at me, Brugnanny, but i would pull it up and soak the roots, put some transplant stuff on it and pot it up again. i hate it, the brugs i have bought have been in such tiny pots and seem to take forever to grow!
I dont have a close up picture of Pink Beauty, arlene.
If your flower is that large, then it must be Rosamond.
I think JT and i got ours from the same place, wondering now if they are all "Rosamond". thanks, Monika. Anyone have pink beauty? or rosabelle?
arlene, Rosabelle looks much different from PB and Rosamond.
I have seen the Rosabelle pics, lighter pink, more hanging flower? i think it is gorgeous too, it's at the top of my want list.
Rosabelle is lighter in color, the length of the flower about 34cm. Its distinctive mark is upward growing flower stem. The weight of the large flower bends it in the middle of the calyx downwards.
does anyone remember giving me my Pink Beauty?? I'm trying to find out if it's the same as arlenes or not. (I know, better records)
tig, i can't remember who all i sent cuttings to, not a whole lot of people... you saw mine, isn't it the same color as BF? you have to consider age of flower, but....
btw, Monika, i measured 5 inches from lowest part of calyx (it's quite uneven) to the bottom of the flower, mid day and not recurved.
I don't think you have the same plant side by side arlene, if that's what you asked. and the picture of them both certainly looks like 2 different plants to me.
no, i mean the color is the same on BF and my "pink beauty". BF is like a dwarf pink beauty, same color.

The length of the calyx can be given only in ca measurements. It depends much on feeding and time of the year. If you are not sure about BF and your PB, cross them with each other. If every plant sets pods with fertile seeds, you can be sure, that you have two different plants. If not, they are the same; either BF or PB.
arlene, I got mine from Eric, just found the old email.
I have pink Beauty but not big enough to bloom yet...
oh phooey, maybe not. oldtimers:) saw Butterfly, read PB. we can trade in the fall and see??
Monika, i am sure the two are different plants, they just seem to be the same color to me, and PB is overall bigger PB flowers tilt down more as a kind of rule. i think PB has slightly serrated leaves, will have to look again.
Tig,did you get pink beauty from Hodniks?thats where my butterfly and pink beauty came from
THAT'S IT! that's one you sent me a piece of when you sent mine!!! thanks CC, I couldn't remember for the life of me

The color of all is about the same, arlene. Exception is Rosabelle and Rosalie. Rosabelle has a lighter pink and the pink of Rosalie is unique, matchless!
Arlene . . it's done. I repotted and put transplant solution on it. I am glad that I am not the only one that has had this problem. Thanks for your help and experience.
Rosamond is truly a beauty, Jeanne.
i had decided mine was pink beauty, not rosamond.
