Good afternoon everyone. It is absolutely beautiful out. Who would have thought that temps in high 80's would feel so good? Unfortunately, I think I have some kind of bug and I am having dizzy spells today so can't take advantage of this cool weather and get weeding done.

Yesterday afternoon I went to the county fair and watched the 4-H/FFA lamb show. Got to visit/gossip with neighbors and friends. DD entered and won the alumni sheep showmanship contest and won a restaurant gift certificate.

You may remember my previous posts about our moronic neighbor. Well he is at it again. His son shows sheep. The last few years, he has not been doing well in the show ring - mainly because his lambs are too skinny. (If he would just feed them - it would help.) Well last year after the show, he went on a big tangent about something that happened and made a big a** out of himself. Well this year he did it again. He waits until after the show is done and throws a fit because the Extension service allowed kids to show ewes without their scrapies tags. The rules are pretty vague as the USDA just instituted this program, going through growing pains, etc. DD was really upset last night since she is working for the Extension office. The agent had to call the head of the Univ Animal Science dept late last night to get her to fax a letter to them. They basically said it wasn't up to the Extension service to enforce this new rule this year since the USDA was slow to get their act together.

I came home from the sheep show and dh was "missing". The truck was here, chores were done, etc. but no dh. Finally called down to some people who bought some lambs from us and yes he was there. Well he said he tried to call me on the cell phone (dd had it turned off). So I asked him "do you know how to write a note?" Men!!!

DD and DH brought Angel and her heifer calf on Monday night. DD wants to show her at the State Fair. Have to figure out a name for her. She is black. Her mom's name is Angel and she is out of a Hostage bull. Any suggestions? She is really nice and we are hoping to sell her for dd to help pay for some college expenses.

Well better go - feeling better now so may go out and get some weeding done. You all take care!
