I'm working on collecting enough information to create several hundred water entries in the PDB - hopefully within the next day or so. (I would have never believed there are actually that many cultivars, but there are.)
When they're up and running, I sure hope our "resident collectrs" will share photos and comments :)
Get those waterlily pictures ready.
LMK when it is up and running. I have over 50 varities of waterlily's, tropical and hardy. Also over 25 varities of Lotus. I can fill your mail up with pictures. LOL.
Okay, the first part of the mission is accomplished: we now have 870-some varieties of the genus Nymphaea (which will soon be joined by several more species entries, plus their cousins, the Nelumbos.)
Now the fun begins - please take a look at the list, and add photos or comments to those you're growing, have grown, (or will grow as soon as you can pinch some from your neighbor's pond :)
And please take a critical look at the information in those entries while you're there. If you find anything that looks wrong (spelling, hardy/tropical notation, size, sun/shade exposure, spread, etc. - please let me know. I did my best to be accurate, but when there are that many plant entries, there are bound to be some errors. You won't hurt my feelings if you point out corrections (just the opposite - when someone else edits them, I feel a lot more comfortable with them!)
go_vols you have greensmoke listed as a hardy and it is a tropical. I have a beautiful image to add to it.
Sorry for the delayed response - I'm still trying to catch up after being out of pocket for a few days. The entry is fixed: http://plantsdatabase.com/go/50713/
Thanks for the alert; please let me know if you see any other things that need to be changed or corrected :)
