This is a new hybrid(came out last year)...from a company in Missouri that specialize in hardy hibiscus..they have over 30 forms and color combinations.Beautiful lavender color..until last year unknown in hardy forms..very large flowers and great color..pics don't do it justice!

Eclipse: I have this one in pink, they are gorgeous. Bought it last fall. Didn't realize they were that new. It is just started to bloom. Will get a photo taken of it. They remind me of the dinnerplate hibiscus. Very sturdy plants.
okay, dumb question. is there a reason I couldn't use rose of sharon in place of this plant? could I keep it pruned to a nice bush size? hate to buy something if I could just propagate.
