I bought a plant & put it in my container pond & the water got slightly brown looking. I didn't like it there & moved it into another container pond & it did the same thing. I
thought maybe it was loose dirt & OK now.. even was glad I put it there 1st. After the same thing happened I took it out & it was planted in a pot that was some kinda paper
fiber material that is brownish. I think it dyed my water. I can still see the bottom but no ways as good as before. I have taken the plant out & removed all of it.. put the plant in the outside plastic pot & placed gravel in the pot. Now my question will my water ever be clear again? What can I do?
Thanks for any help,
Sugar
Water not clear
did all that happen today? if so, it will more than likely settle down. hope so:)
TiG No it happened several days ago. I still thought it was dirt from the plant & it would clear up. I even cleaned the filter. It is still off color.
I dont' know, I haven't ever seen what you're talking about it being planted in. I'd call the place i bought it from, hopefully they can help??
Do a partial water change of at least 25%, wait a few days to a week and then do that again. The pot was probably made of peat moss and it sometimes color your water for a long time but the partial water changes will take the color and dilute it down until your pond is sparkling again.
