Color without flowers

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Got tired of trying to get flowers to bloom in shade. So I went wild with plants. They get late afternoon sun but they are directly under a pecan. Overhead water 2 x day for tropical effect. Have had good success with cannas blooming in that area and a coral plant-the coral plant isn't in photo. This area was planted this year-about a month ago.

A MONTH AGO??????/// what are you feeding them? what is the striped on left and the dark under it?

That's a month ago? You must live in plant heaven, or have the most perfect soil for those plants.

They were pot plants and I feed 6 month fert. and water 2 x day 7 days a week. Basically they are being fed every day.

Tig, they are both gingers. One of my other passions. Collect Brugs, gingers and aroids (alocasias, calocasias and xanthosomas). That is why I can not collect hibiscus!!!!

okay, you can get away with feeding them like that because they're in the ground? do you use a sprayer? do you feed your brugs like that? do you find time to do anything else besides feed your plants?? they are wonderful!

I set tall sprinklers up this year that come on automatically. Hopefully, next year we can get an underground sprinkler system put in. I just sprinkle the fertalizer around the plants and the water does the rest.

GORGEOUS! Love the play of light and dark colors (I'm really into lime colored plants this year), different textures, shapes, and sizes. Excellent composition!
