Nice hint of pink on this one. Can you take a picture of it when it is open. I'm not trying to ID it, but would just love to see it open. Someone who has more experience than me will have to do the ID thing. Thanks and NICE picture.

Brugie it opened last Thursday night and I had to work Friday and left as soon as I got off work to go to Augusta to watch my grandson play in State Baseball Tournament and took this picture as I was walking to the car. The bloom was gone when I got back today. It has 9 more buds so I'll post pictures when they open. Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks, I'll watch for it.

Kell, this looks very very very much like the plant i sent you the seeds from. too bad i was such a terror with labels last year.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I got the seeds Arlene.....THANKS......I left them at work though. So should I wait and pot them up in the spring?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

No! start them now. when is your first frost date?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

start some anyway. aren't you zone 10?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

No, really zone 9. I do not know why Dave's thinks 10. I do not know, last year it was very late. I had petunias thru January. I think it was February.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

i'm still starting seeds, not tons, but some. started some monday. i've had a couple went from seed popping up to first bloom in 4 months. if they die back they will still have good roots to come back from in the spring. i think here even a cold frame might protect them.
when my first seeds ripen that i really want,i will open the pod outside and plant them right away without ever bringing them inside! does anyone know if aurea seeds take longer to ripen?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

ok............ will go to work tomorrow to grab them........... how exciting!!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Arlene, tiG, and Kell + others,

You guys are so lucky to have such a long growing season and early spring. I'm just hating the thoughts of having to cut the brugs back in early October. Still wishing I lived down south, but after the heat we have had, I don't know if I could stand it as long as you all have to deal with it. I finally found some good pollen tonight on FP, Isabella, and Tragedy. Nothing blooming is anything I wanted to cross, so I'll just have some pods for fun. I'm still waiting on Pink Beauty, Butterfly, Tropical Sunset, and a couple of others to bloom so I can pollinate. Will probably have to do as you are going to do tiG, and air layer once I see they have pods. Sorry I got so windy.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

remember, it IS okay to ramble here:)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks tiG. Sometimes I just feel the need to talk. :-) Yeah, right!! Jim would love it if I had the need to shut up. He is a little tired of listening to my flower talk and now I'm moving toward tomatoes and salsa. Just doesn't fit his need for Stocks and Bonds conversation.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Brugie.....that is why I just love it here............everyone can go on ad nauseum about their plants....... in real life after 5 minutes I would get the LOOK!!!

Pebble, is the lemon I sent you budded up yet?
