Beautiful colour ~~
OK Barb - I have three printouts of his pictures in front of me. 2 are named, I'm waiting for names on the 3rd. I seem to be compiling a compendium of "I'll never, ever find these hibiscus" - Which one is yours???

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Hardy-poor thing I planted it 2 weeks ago in the heat. The colors are much deeper than the photo depicts.

Liz,

Hardy to you in, what zone 9-10? or hardy to me in zone 8 and a smidgeon (if the wind is right)??

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Should be zone 8--that is what I am.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

good stuff! something gorgeous I can leave in the ground.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

I never think of Vancouver being in zone 8- What is your weather like there?

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Barb, that is really lovely.
After seeing everyone's photos of their hibs, and kyle's collection, I am sorely tempted to get a few, but I think I have my hands full with the brugs for now, I will enjoy the hibs from afar, as long as you all post pictures, I will be happy for now. I dont know for how long though.....

Liz many of the hardy hibiscus are zone hardy to zone 5 we have several real nice varieties here that have 12 inch flowers and make very large (wide plants that die to the ground in winter and regrow in spring..mine can have upwards of 50 flowers in a day on the older plants..

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Kyle, specifically , can you name a couple of the ones that are hardy down to zone 5 AND have 50 flowers on it?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Thanks Eclipse - I have a few of the hardy ones - but I'm becoming a sucker for the big blowsy tropical ones. Thanks for identifying the ones you've posted - taking your notes down to see if I can identify one or two of the ones I have.

Pebble..the disco belle series is hardy to northern most areas of zone 5..they come in pink/red center,white/red center, and dark red...the flowers on the disco belle series are flat..the southern belle series is what I have that have dozens of flowers open at a time..I'll post a pic.it comes in the same colors.12 inch diameter flowers are common.
