We tried Eliot Coleman's design for a coldframe and like it, so we decided to do a small scale greenhouse using his plans out of his "Four Season Harvest" book. We're doing an 8'x 8'prototype to see if we like it. If we do, we'll expand next year. The design is inexpensive and will be going up this weekend.
Has anyone else used this design or any of his? What did you think of them?
Happy Gardening!

Prototype Greenhouse Using Coleman's Design
We have a 12x22 Eliot Colman like design and have a friend who has several 20x 50' houses.
They are nice trhings to have but have limits.
We changed Coleman's design some to compensate for high winds and Thunderstorms. We have put spikes every 2' through the footers and also stake down the house from both the inside and outside.
Winds are something he has not designed for as maine doesn't have the storms the midwest has.
My friend who has the 50' houses lost two to snows crushing them (he was recovering from heart surgery and coundn't get out to get the snow off the houses).
We have grown lots of crops out of season including tomatoes and have designed and even simpler and cheaper moveable house because we liked the idea of high tunnels so much
