Thank you Snow. This is a pretty plant. It opened last night with the typical yellow blooms and I couldn't wait to get up this morning and see the change. Isabella is very pretty and I love the way the blooms nod. They are really nodding right now because the wind is blowing. I've moved almost all the potted brugs to afternoon shade. This heat is unbearable.
Isabella from Snowhermit.
Wow Shirley, That sure did grow.It turned into a beauty. Must be your green thumb. So glad you like it. :)
I can't imagine not liking it. I'm so into getting more of the darker colors. This just fit the bill. It sure did grow fast. I can't remember when you sent it, but it doesn't seem like that long ago. Of course, it had some great size and roots when it got here and that helped a lot.
I love that, mine never have that many blooms.....its just me,they want me to appriciate them bloom by bloom!
cc, are the girls still there?
snow, is this from the one I sent you?
Nope they left about an hour ago to head to Kathleens.Wish they could'a stayed longer but they are schedualed pretty tight
tiG, I believe it is. :)
Very pretty Shirley. I sure wish I had that much shade in my yard. I use to but we lost many pine trees a couple years ago to the pine bark beetles.
Frannie, we have lost some pines too, but in town they lost hundreds. Our that remain don't look very good now. We have started another row on the north side of the existing ones so that when the old ones come down, we will still have some type of wind break from that north and cold wind in the winter.
tiG, if this came from you originally, I'll have to say thanks to you too. Snow did a great job rooting the cutting she sent me. I'll bet your Isabella is much bigger and fuller than mine is. I can sit in this room and look out the window and enjoy this one. Just love it.
CC, I don't do anything special. Just keep most of the lower leaves plucked off and fertilize. I'm even slowing down on that now. Got scared when the brugs started dying. Will probably only fertilize once a week now. I think they can make it on their own now that most are grown ups. :-)
Brugie, that is one spectacular brug.....how often were you fertilizing?
Pebble, I was fertilizing a couple times a week. Each of the brugs has Osmocote mixed into the soil as well. I only use the Bloom Booster 2-3 times a summer. So far, Peters 20-20-20 is my favorite fertilizer. How's the pink Justicia doing now? :-)
Very pretty Brugie! I can't wait for mine to bloom!
Kell, in the shade here it is holding its blooms well. Not like those in the sun that are baking.
Brugie..nice pink!!Looks like we might get some wind and storms this weekend again... :-(
You guys have the worst weather!
I thought we were going to have some tonight, but it didn't happen. Hope it isn't too bad. Better go move the brugs again and put some pot stakes in them to hold them upright. Thanks for the comment about the plant. I guess I got nervous when you said "wind and storms".
You are right Kell. Some years it is great, but this year we have had winds, rains, droughts, heat, cold, you name it. Even had a little hail in one storm, but little damage.
You are up late Miss Brugie! You must burn lots of calories with all your moving of the brugs! You never complain about your back though!
Kell, I'm about to call it a night. My back is good. Already had it fixed back in 85. I wish I burned calories. I'm sure I do, but I just eat more than I burn. Kinda like the Thirsty Day Diet, I too have already lost 15 days. :-)
night Miss Brugie!
Happy Brug Dreams Kell. Later......
dare I twice in one night??
XX
I'm still up Kell - what shall we talk about??
oh HI Liz!! my DH took the computer for his 10 minutes he is allotted per day!
we can talk about my move!
Okay, I'm still on here. Got sidetracked. What move. House and home or flowers?
I want to live the good life and live where the view and the company is to die for.........not to mention the brugs!!!
No offense Brugie, but your weather reports from Iowa have not been a hard selling point! Otherwise I would be yours!
